Last week the Trourist team had the opportunity to go to Barcelona to present the company at the Re’09 event, organized by Infonomía. But apart from presenting trourist and working as part of the staff, we also had time to learn from the keynotes and the activities organized. I would like to highlight the following topics:
-Africa: Unfortunately, Africa is often out of this type of events. But it didn’t happen at the Re’09. Antonella Broglia talked to us about the opportunities for investors at this country. Her vision was reaffirmed by Xumo Nounjio, an artist and entrepreneur from Camerun. He said “In Africa there is no need for rice; all we need are firms which respect our identity”.
-Abilities: Eric Villalón let us know about the development of personal abilities from his own experience. I made it mine one of the ideas he talked about: “We all have abilities to do big things; we’ll only need hard work and perseverance to achieve them”.
-Emotions: Xesco Espar showed us emotions aren’t static and can be controlled. “Don’t be afraid of falling down; just try not to be long time down there”.
-Trends: Economical, technological, educational and social trends also came up during the two days.
We hope you’ve spent such a fun and intense weekend as us. All the trourist team has taken part in the creativity workshop promoted by iNNoVaNDiS and organised by Funky Projects.
iNNoVaNDiS is a program leaded by the University of Deusto which is promoting an entrepreneurship and innovative approach among the students. All of us were part of the second generation of iNNoVaNDiS and trourist came up from the program. Although we are done done with university, we still are involved and keep a good relationship with the responsibles of iNNoVaNDiS. Two years ago we took part in the first workshop organized and this year we have been invited as if we were students.
Funky Projects has designed the workshop with the following objectives: to generate a critic attitude around creativity and innovation, to create an opinion in an experimental way (reflection-in-action) and to highlight the self expression of the participants. With that purpose we took part in different activities that caused a reflection. We prepared cocktails, visited the museum of History of Zarautz, learnt to do kickboxing and designed activities that generated interactions with the inhabitants from Zarautz inspired by Improve Everywhere.
The most important conclusions of the workshop have been:
- Don’t wait till it happens, but create the moment yourself.
- Combine action and reflection.
- Kill the devil’s advocate.
- Question all around you.
- Creation doesn’t exist without fun.
In two words, it has been a very intense and fun weekend and it’s been a great opportunity to meet the new innovandis students.
Last Friday we attended the Nonick 09 Conference. The Startup 2.0 final took place there and we presented trourist. Although, we didn’t get the best European startup award, we are happy trourist had good acceptance by the people who came to Bilbao. The startups who won are:
1º Colnect: It is a comprehensive online solution for collectors of mass produced collectibles based in Israel. Though they are a young site, they already have an important number of users and collectibles. All that, and the potential of the market they are addressing turn Colnect into a very promissing community.
2º Genoom: It is a social networking platform designed to build private family networks. Users can build family trees and share photos and information between them. They already have more than 600.000 users registered.
3º Twidox. It is is a free online library that allows users and organisations to effortlessly upload, share and manage their documents.
Our sincere congratulations to the three of you.
We also would like to thank our development team, Linking Paths and La Personnalité for the excellent work they’ve done to have trourist prepared for the Nonick Conference.
ExperienceLess is a movement that was born to live, not to die.
You, with your ideas, suggestions, comments, photos and videos, can keep it alive – even make it immortal. Together we can transform it into a meeting point for those of us who travel to live destinations, not visit them.
